MOAS' Low-Cost SPay/Neuter clinic

Committed to reducing pet overpopulation in our community.

Our low-cost spay/neuter clinic provides excellent surgical care at affordable rates to help address the problem of pet overpopulation. Altering your pet ensures that he or she will not have any unwanted litters and typically provides multiple health and behavioral benefits for your pet, including lower risks of certain types of cancer.

Our spay/neuter clinic is open to anyone; you do not have to be a Madison or Oglethorpe County resident to have your pet altered at our facility. However, you must make an appointment. Please be patient with us as we receive several requests every day and our scheduling can sometimes be up to 4 weeks out.

Surgeries are done on Monday through Friday by appointment only. Animals must always be dropped off between 8:30am and 9:00am, and they must not have had any food since midnight before the surgery. Pick up is the same day as surgery. We do not have the space to board pets over night.

  • Upon arrival you will be asked to sign a surgery consent form agreeing that you understand that there are risks associated with anesthesia and surgery and that complications, including death, may arise during or after the procedure. You will also agree that the Shelter does not require complete medical records on animals presented for surgery and that all animals presented for surgery may not be healthy and that your animal may come in contact with an infectious agent as a result of entering the Shelter and that un-vaccinated animals are at a greater risk for developing disease. MOAS will treat the animal described above for fleas if there are too many to continue with the surgery. All animals altered at our shelter will receive a small green line tattoo near the incision as proof of alteration, this is not optional. If an animal has fleas and it is deemed necessary to treat in order to continue with the surgery you will be required to pay in full for the flea treatment. If deemed too aggressive, I will comply with the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter's decision to decline any procedure on my animal.

Disclaimer: We are a animal shelter providing low cost services to all surrounding counties and more, because of the volume of requests we are booking appointments a month out. Please be patient as we try to accommodate all requests.

You will receive an email once our schedule has an opening. (Please check your spam/junk folders.)
