About the Program:

Thanks to Fix Georgia Pets and The Banfield Foundation, Spay It Forward has been funded for 2024!

The program aims to provide free spay/neuter to county residents who can not afford spay/neuter. The program began in late 2018 after the shelter received its first-ever spay/neuter grant from The Bissell Pet Foundation. Thanks to grants, and generous donations from the Bow Wow Fund, we have kept the program running for over six years. We are still seeking donations to keep it ongoing.  By assisting those in need we help reduce the number of unwanted puppies and kittens born in our area, which has more pets than we can find homes for. MOAS takes in approximately 2,700 homeless animals each year and we know the only way to help reduce this and to reduce euthanasia in shelters is by altering the most at-risk animal populations. Since this program started animal intake numbers have dropped every year! This critical program is proven to save lives so please consider supporting the organizations who keep it funded.
